Workshop 4: TABLEWARE: make your own 5 piece set of stoneware tableware

DATES: Thursdays 21/10/25, 28/10/25 and 4/11/25

TIME: 6pm to 8pm

LOCATION: Rúa Martín Alonso Pinzón, 15, 36208 Vigo.

This 6 hour workshop is divided in 3 sessions of 2 hours. It will take place at Paula Ojea’s ceramics studio in Bouzas. The techniques to make and decorate the following pieces will be taught:

• 1 large plate (24 cm)
• 1 small plate (18 cm)
• 1 bowl (15 cm)
• 1 cup (9 cm)
• 1 spoon

Day 1: Modeling of the cup and bowl. General explanation of the engobe decorating techniques: Sgraffito, resists, mishima…

Day 2: Modeling of both plates and start decorating with engobes

Day 3: Finish decorating with engobes

 

ADDITIONAL INFO

• All materials are included
• No previous knowledge is necessary
• Reduced groups (6 people max). If you are a party of 4 to 6 people, you can choose the dates that suit you!
• You will be able to use all necessary tools
• We will take care of your piece during the drying process. Then we will fire and glaze it and let you know when it is ready for you to come and pick it up. Delivery is also available.
• Your piece will be dishwasher and microwave safe, because we will be using high fire materials and food safe glazes.
• The teacher is fluent in English in case you need it!
• Each student has a different rhythm , so we cannot guarantee that all of the students finish all the pieces.
• To master the ceramic techniques and processes requires a lot of experience and trial and error, and results are not always what we expect. The kiln surprises are part of the learning process.

Cancellation Policy: If we are able to find someone to fill in your place, or have a minimum of 4 people attending the workshop, we will give you a gift certificate to attend the workshop at another date.
